1. What is a Ferienjob?

The Ferienjob Germany programme is a short-term employment arrangement of maximum 90 calendar days per calendar year, organised by SHB Personalservice GmbH under § 14 para. 2 of the German Employment Ordinance (BeschV). Your legal employer is Abax Personaldienstleistungen GmbH, Mannheim, Germany.

ℹ️ A Ferienjob is NOT a pathway to permanent residency, long-term employment, a career placement, or an immigration opportunity of any kind.

2. Physical Demands

The work is physically demanding. You will be required to stand, walk, lift, carry, and sort goods for shifts of up to 8–10 hours. Work may take place in warehouses, cold storage, or outdoor environments. You confirm that you are in good physical health and capable of meeting these demands.

⚠️ If you have a pre-existing medical condition that may affect your ability to work, you are obligated to disclose this prior to starting. Failure to disclose may result in immediate termination.

3. Strictly Prohibited Behaviour

The following will result in immediate termination without compensation:

  • Consumption or possession of alcohol or illegal substances at work or in accommodation
  • Theft of any kind — including from colleagues, the employer, or clients
  • Violence, harassment or discrimination of any kind
  • Unauthorised absence without valid medical certificate
  • Working for any other employer in Germany during the placement
  • Sharing confidential workplace information on social media or elsewhere
  • Violation of visa or immigration conditions

4. Performance & Termination

You are expected to maintain a professional standard of performance throughout your placement. Consistent underperformance, unreliability, or poor conduct will result in termination. In severe cases, termination may occur without prior warning.

5. No Compensation for Costs

⚠️ This is critical: Neither SHB Personalservice GmbH nor Abax Personaldienstleistungen GmbH will reimburse flight costs, visa fees, document preparation costs, medical fees, or any other expenses — in the event of early termination, visa rejection, or non-commencement of placement for any reason whatsoever.

6. Visa & Immigration

You are solely responsible for obtaining your German work visa. You may not enter Germany or begin work without a valid visa. Overstaying your visa is a criminal offence.

7. Accommodation

Where accommodation is provided, you must maintain cleanliness, respect fellow residents, and comply with all house rules. Theft, violence, or destruction of property results in immediate termination and eviction within 24 hours.

8. Social Security & Tax

Your employment is classified as kurzfristige Beschäftigung. Standard social security contributions are not deducted. You are responsible for any personal tax obligations in Germany or your home country.

9. Communication

You must be reachable by phone and WhatsApp at all times during the placement. Sick leave must be reported at least 1 hour before your shift begins.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. Place of jurisdiction: Stuttgart.
